Summer update

Habitats, Colchester Zoo and Enabling Enterprise

This term the children in year 2 have worked exceptionally hard and we want to say a huge well done to them for completing the SATs exams.  All children tried their best and this was reflected in the results they achieved.  All staff at Curwen are really proud of the maturity and attitude to learning that the children displayed – well done!

In our science topic this term we have been learning about living things and their habitats.  Each classroom had caterpillars and were able to watch their incredible transformation into butterflies.  We also went on an educational visit to Colchester Zoo where the children saw loads of exciting living things and took part in a work shop where they started to learn about classification.  We have also been planning a café as part of our Enabling Enterprise topic where the children have learnt about profit and have shown a range of skills such as team work, staying positive and problem solving.  The children will have the opportunity to sell to the rest of the school before the end of the term.
