New Scientist Live 2023

This week, our year 4, 5 and 6 MASt science children at Curwen visited schools' day at New Scientist Live at EXCEL London. The children were exposed to a range of science based technology and careers through shows, talks, demonstrations and hands-on activities. The children first enjoyed 'Rude Science', a show full of explosive and grotty experiments where children learnt about bodily fluids and functions. Next, they had a once in a lifetime chance to take part in a live link up with astronaut and ISS Commander Andreas Mogensen aboard the International Space Station where they heard about life on board and his personal experiences. Finally, they had some time to explore a range of exhibits including animal robots, combine harvesters, meteorites and coding devices. It was an amazing and eye-opening experience into the world of science!
