Curwen Primary School

Autumn 1

Our theme this term is ‘Who am I?’ Over the past seven weeks, the children and their families have been slowly settling into Nursery routine. They have been learning to recognise their own picture and proudly say their names: “My name is ….”  They now wave goodbye to their parents and carers with confidence and greet the nursery staff with happy smiles. Each day, they are enjoying their time more and more—making new connections, discovering new things, and beginning to explore the wonderful environment around them with curiosity and joy.

The children are beginning to use lovely words like please, thank you, sorry, my turn, your turn, and Can I play with you?… to help them play and talk together. It’s been wonderful watching new friendships grow, with children remembering each other’s names and even taking photos of their new friends. They love showing us their play and proudly sharing what they’ve made.

These are some of the things children need to be doing whilst in Nursery, if your child is finding these things difficult, please approach a member of staff for ideas and strategies.

We’re excited to see how they continue to grow and thrive in Autumn 2
