Summer update

Rivers, Mudlarking along the Thames and learning about the Amazon.

In Year 4 we have been learning about the Amazon. In Art and DT, we created our own sketch books of all the different tropical wildlife that lives in the Amazon. We have acted out what it would be like to be lost in the Amazon Rainforest and written diary entries about our experiences.

We had Zoolab in to coincide with our science topic ‘Living things and their habitats’. Here we are handling all kinds of creepy crawlies! We have learnt about vertebrates and invertebrates and explored animals  with exothermic and endothermic skeletons.  We can now identify how animals are adapted for their environments.

To celebrate the end of a great year, we held our ‘Religions assembly’. We learnt and discussed our identities and how we are shaped by our family, friends and religion. We have celebrated our differences and this was reflected in our end of year assembly.

We also visited Greenwich and went Mudlarking along the River Thames. We found many different artefacts and explored what period of history they came from. This also linked to our topic ‘Rivers’.
