Autumn update

Learning about celebratons, West Ham Church and Art lessons

The children have now settled back into school life and have made lots of friends. We all enjoy coming to school and learning something new each day!

Our current top of learning is about ‘Celebrations’. There are lots of Celebrations which are special to different people.  As part of our topic a trip to West Ham Parish Church was on the agenda, we started off from school and walked all the way to the church on our journy we learnt how to walk safely along the pavement.

As we arrived, we observed our surroundings and made observational drawings of the stained glass windows in the church. We looked at the different shapes, colours and details. On our return to schcool we explored a variety of materials to make some stained glass windows. We used scissors, glue, acetate and tissue paper. We worked really well as a team to create our windows.

The children and adults really enjoyed the trip!
