Curwen Primary School

""

Spring 1 Update

This term our topic is 'People and Places’ looking at ourselves and our families, our school and people in our community who help us.  At the beginning of the term we talked about our school and why we like coming to nursery. We are proud to come to Curwen Primary School. Then we looked at similarities and differences between doctors and vets, police and firefighters. Learning about who they are, where they work and what they do to help people and animals.

We had some visitors to our school, Lucy from the DLR and three local police officers. We went on our own pretend train journey and got given our own tickets. Then the police officers let us dress up, showed us the transport they drive and use their equipment such as a radio and handcuffs.

We have been continuing to learn our sounds and recognise numbers during group time. Counting our special friends at school and recognising shapes when making our own police car or fire engine using junk modelling.

We finished the term with a visit from Little angel Theatre Company and learnt all about animals that come out at night time. It has been a great term!
