Autumn 1

Shakespeare,  Globe Theatre and many Iconic attractions.

After a wonderful summer holiday, Year 6 returned full of enthusiasm and excitement for the year ahead.

Our topic this term is the life and work of William Shakespeare. As part of this topic, the children along with Year 6 team took a trip to the Southbank visiting the Globe Theatre, where many of Shakespeare’s plays were performed, as well as numerous other iconic landmarks and tourist attractions that the city of London has to offer.

From this the children have researched, planned and written non-chronological reports based on the landmarks, attractions and entertainment that can be experienced at the Southbank.

As you can see, the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience of soaking up the excitement, energy and culture of one of London’s most popular tourist destinations. This has been reflected in the wonderful reports written and the enthusiasm in which they talk about the subject.
