School Council Meet MP Lyn Brown

Today, the school councillors were able to meet the MP Lyn Brown, who paid a visit to our school. This is because this week is UK Parliament Week, so we wanted to get involved and find out more about Parliament.

To plan for this we all came up with specific questions to ask Lyn Brown the younger councillors asked many question such as: When did you become a councillor?, what is it like in Parliament? And do you work in the House of Lords or the House of Commons? The KS2 councillors then asked Lyn to help come up with ways we could fundraise, organisations we could talk to, to get some possible sponsors and ways for us to improve ourselves such as how us as school councillors can become better leaders.

We really enjoyed having the MP visit our school and hope to do more things with Parliament in the future.
