Year 6 Curriculum Update
What a fantastic year it's been for our Year 6 pupils! We want to congratulate them for their incredible hard work and commitment, especially during the Summer Term and in preparing for their SATs.
About the SATs
The SATs (Standard Assessment Tests) are national tests taken by children in Year 6. They help us understand your child's progress in reading, writing, and maths compared to national expectations. You'll receive your child's SATs levels in their end-of-year reports.
Learning Highlights
This term, our Year 6 students have been incredibly busy and engaged in a wide range of subjects and activities:
-
Science: We had an amazing trip to the Natural History Museum for an explorative tour on evolution. They learned all about what evolution is, why it happens, and how it works.
-
Foundation Subjects: Our pupils explored fascinating topics like The Vikings in History, created leavers videos and websites in Computing, and delved into Earthquakes and Volcanoes in Geography.
-
Trips and Activities: They enjoyed exciting trips to Chessington and Nando's. They also made great strides in their swimming skills during two weeks of lessons.
-
Leavers Concert: The students boosted their confidence and musical talents while preparing for our successful Leavers Concert, featuring original music and lyrics by Mr. Murdoch.
-
Special Events: We also celebrated two of the year's most anticipated events: the Prom and Sports Day. You can see some fantastic photos from these events below!
It's been a truly memorable year for our Year 6s. We're so proud of everything they've achieved! Thank you for all of your support with your child’s learning.
