ZOOLAB
Science Afternoon
Another science afternoon was enjoyed by all this term from nursery to year 6. Children had an extra opportunity dedicated to taking part in practical science where they honed their science knowledge, methods and working scientifically skills. This year, there were a variety of activities relating to properties of materials, space, electrical circuits and teeth and the classrooms were brought to life in a hive of industrious activity. What’s more, the children were delighted to be able to share these experiences with their parents and carers.

New Scientist Exhibition
We are now regulars at the New Scientist Schools day at the Excel. This year, both the MASt Y4, 5 and 6 science and computing children attended, where they were exposed to a plethora of science and computing based technology and careers through shows, talks, demonstrations and hands-on activities.

Zoolab
Zoolab brought our animal science topics to life again this year when they brought a range of exotic animals to Curwen to enrich the curriculum. They led hands on discussions based around classification with year 4 and evolution with y6. The science MASt children in Y1, 2 and 3 also had a bonus session about senses to encourage their innate scientific curiosity.
