Summer 2

During Summer 2, our year 5 pupils have continued their work on sustainability and environment. For our Geography Day, we went to do an area quality survey around Plaistow, thinking about improvements that could be made.  The question we tried to answer was: “What is the quality of my local area?” As well as learning more about sustainability, we have managed to do many other exciting things. We held our Eid assembly to parents, where we discussed what Eid means to us and talked about why and how it is celebrated.

In literacy and maths, we have been revising in preparation for the assessments. We have worked extremely hard this year, and this has been reflected in our assessments. We have also continued reading our class books, focusing our reading and grammar learning on them, whether it was: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (5B), Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (5L), The Boy at the Back of the Class (5T) or Alex Rider: Stormbreaker (5C). In maths, we have been learning about algebra, perimeter and area. Look at some of our work below:
