Spring 1 Update

Gosh! It may have been a short term but year 6 have certainly packed lots of learning in so far this year.

As part of our topic on World War II, the children embarked on an educational visit to Chistlehurst Caves in Kent to experience what it was like to be an evacuee during the war. They have been using this experience to write dairies from the perspective of an evacuee to include themes such as: empathy, loss and identity.

The children also wrote poems about one of the many horrific bombings that occurred in London during the war - just down the road in Canning Town at South Hallsville School in 1940.

Using different materials and styles, Y6 also created wonderful pieces of arts based on war images. Some of these fantastic creations as well as pictures of other highlights can be seen below...
