School Council Houses of Parliment Visit

The School Council certainly picked a busy week to visit the Houses of Parliament! All the council members were given a tour of the building which included seeing both the House of Commons and the House of Lords as well as he oldest parts of the building. Adam (6C) even managed to find time to ask one MP some pressing questions on important national issues. They learnt a little bit about the building's history and then took part in an elections and representation workshop. The workshop was a good opportunity to reflect on how they will work together as they learnt about how to balance the different demands and interests of different people and how to work together to reach a compromise. The School Council got to see both the inside and outside of the historic building.

They visited both the House of Commons and the House of Lords

During workshops they were split into teams and had to decide on relevant issues that they wanted to prioritise.
