Moonbase Challange Day
The children in key stage 1 took on the Moonbase Challenge at Curwen Primary. In one day they successfully built a new city on the moon.
They were faced with a problem at the beginning of the day, Earth was overcrowded and people needed to repopulate on the moon. In teams they worked together to discuss who they would need to take to their new city. For example doctors, fire fighters, teachers, police and more. They also discussed what buildings they would need to live and survive. They worked together to plan out and design their new city and the buildings to go in it. After they used recyclable materials to make their buildings and place them on a map. They had to use their challenge skills to successfully complete their models. Finally they presented their different cities to each other in order to persuade people that their city is the place to be.
