Autumn 2

Our theme this Autumn 2 is ‘Ourselves’. The children are familiar with staff, their peers and routines. They are beginning to express their needs, interests, and building special friendships. But most importantly, they are building their independency and communication.

The children can find their names and photos on the self-registration board. Adults have been fantastic helping their children to find the name and answer the daily question.

Every Tuesday the children visit the library. They are becoming independent at choosing their own book and wait for the librarian to scan the new book. Children get very excited at story time, they enjoy adults sharing books with them and they are now sharing their favourite books with their peers.

Children have learnt all about themselves and their families, festivals, celebrations and birthdays. Children took part in our Guru Nanak’s assembly and parents watched it via Zoom. They spoke in full sentences and sang Happy Birthday to Guru Nanak. They explored different materials to make fantastic birthday cakes and discovered instruments; they explored how to play them in different ways.

It has been another great term in Nursery.

Families emailed their family photos and children have enjoyed sharing these and talking about their family with their friends. We encourage the children to name who is in their family, what they are doing and how they feel. The children have been having a go to draw themselves and their family and use construction toys to build their families
