Autumn 1

Wow! The children have grown in such a short space of time during Autumn 1.

Our theme is ‘Who am I?’ They have been learning to recognise their picture and say their name.  The children are now confident to say goodbye to their parents/carers and hello to the nursery staff. The children have explored the learning environment and curious to try new activities.

We have six steps we help the children with to build their independence.

We have introduced story time, the children are beginning to learn new words, phrases and beginning to listen to stories as well as look at books independently in the book corner. The children have enjoyed making their monsters using media. They are discovering the marks they can make using different tools.

The children are beginning follow the routines and tolerate one another’s needs. We are using key language, please, thank you, good morning, good afternoon, sorry, my turn, your turn and I would like… The children will have a go and enjoy showing the adults what they are doing or what they have made.

We are looking forward to what next half-term brings.
