Curwen Primary School

Autumn 1 Update

What a busy Autumn Term we have had in year 1. In Topic we have been learning about The Local Area. We visited Epping Forest to identify human and physical features and we explored the grounds using maps.

In Literacy we have been writing non-chronological reports. We learnt about the features of a non-chronological report and what their purpose is. To prepare our report we looked at the different parts of the school and wrote about what Curwen Primary School has to offer.

Curwen’s maths open morning was a huge success and we hope that you have found it useful and feel confident in supporting your children at home. We focussed on problem solving and being resilient. Children took part in challenging activities such as tangram puzzles, code breaking, pentominoes and number bonds.
