On Tuesday our amazing nursery children and parents stayed at school to eat lunch for the very first time. They really enjoyed the chicken sausages and the cheese flan, but especially they loved Chef Lisa's yummy chocolate cake with chocolate custard!
This is all part of getting our nursery children ready to transition into Reception for September.
Thank you to all those parents who attended and supported.

Hope and Harmony in 2025
Curwen and Ranelagh joined forces to raise the roof alongside five other Newham primary schools at the Hackney Empire on Tuesday. With a theme of ‘Hope and Harmony’ the children wowed a packed theatre with some sensational singing and dynamic dance moves. With uplifting songs such as ‘Sunshine on a Rainy Day’ and a toe-tapping Bob Marley Medley, it was truly a night to remember. We hope that the children enjoyed their evening as much as the very proud audience did!
Ten Year 5 pupils enjoyed a fantastic day out at the British Film Institute, Southbank.
In the morning, a lively and engaging session led by our presenter took the children on an exciting journey through the Spanish language, using short films to make learning fun and interactive. Activities were thoughtfully pitched for Key Stage 2 learners and delivered in both English and Spanish. Each pupil had their own booklet, allowing children at different levels of Spanish proficiency to participate fully.
In the afternoon, the pupils had the special opportunity to watch a Spanish-language film with English subtitles.
What an enriching and inspiring experience for all involved!

On Wednesday, six year 2 children attended the Newham RE Infant Conference where the theme was ‘Kindness. They had the opportunity to interact with children from several different from primary schools from across Newham and take part in some wonderful team building and crafting activities. They also had the chance to explore the similarities between different religions and non-religious worldviews when it comes to kindness.

A group of year 2 & 3 super readers had the opportunity to visit the British Library and attend the workshop: Once upon a time – Tell a story. The children enjoyed learning about storytelling and the history of the written word. At the end of the trip, Rabab in 2L said “the whole day was fantastic”, whilst Dennis in 2SA mentioned “we’ve learnt so much about books and stories”.

We went on a school trip to the Sea Life London Aquarium with our families and friends. It was very exciting!!
We travelled by tube from Plaistow Station to Westminster Station. At the aquarium, we saw amazing sea animals like turtles, sharks, jellyfish, and colourful fish. We leaned about different habitats around the world and how animals live in warm or cold oceans. We also saw plants like seaweed and coral. We showed care by being quiet and respectful. We learned how important it is to protect the environment and keep the oceans clean to help sea creatures live safely and happily.

Starting International Week early with our International Champions assembly.
