International Week: Carnival

Our International Family Week culminated with Carnival on Friday, 22th March 2024.

What a feast of a kaleidoscope of colour, energy and joy expressed by our children of Curwen Primary School!

It was a spectacular celebration involving costume, dance and music, all of which was co-ordinated by our very talented PE team. Learning about dance movements is part of the PE curriculum in spring term. All children from Nursery to Year 6 learned choreographed dance movements based on the music from the countries the classes are learning about.

Parents were invited to school to support their child/ren to create their costumes that they will be using for their carnival performances.

The school was buzzing with energy and parents and judges were invited in to watch. All year groups performed their fantastic dances twice to showcase their amazing talents.

The Carnival culminated International Family Week with an effervescent vibrancy of colours of their costumes, music and dance. 120 pupils in each year group danced with great abandon in creating spectacular multi-sensory displays of music, movement and dynamism.

Comments from some parents taken from the parent feedback form on Carnival:
