VE Day Competition

Dear Parents and Carers,

As you may be aware, next week is the 75th anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day. As a school we had planned to hold some celebratory events to mark this occasion, however unfortunately this is not now going to be possible due to current events.

Following the success of our virtual Easter Bonnet competition, we thought that we would hold a similar event to mark VE day. As such, we are suggesting that children submit a VE Day inspired piece of work to our email address: homelearning@curwen.ttlt.academy. The competition will end on Monday 11th May. Please include on the email your child’s name and class. We will include some on our website, and also announce the winners on Friday 15th May.

Suggestions for an entry could be:

  • Designing or making a medal or commemorative coin
  • Writing a poem / song / rap. Perhaps you could video a performance?
  • Designing an informative poster
  • Creating a piece of artwork to commemorate VE Day
  • Writing a diary entry / letter / postcard

Or anything else creative that takes your fancy!
