LITERACYTop Tips: The most important part of Literacy is, without a doubt, reading. It is so important that you read every day. Remember, the more you read, the more you understand. Make sure you ask someone if there are words that you don’t understand and then challenge yourself to use the words in a sentence throughout the day / week. Other things that I would recommend doing are learning your Year 5 and 6 spelling words – when we eventually come back to school, we will have a lot of catching up to do, so if everyone knows all their spelling words, that is one less thing to worry about! As well as this, keep up with your grammar activities and try some creative writing. We would love to read any writing that you do so please send it over to us on google classroom or email it to the school. |

MATHS – Top Tips: The most important thing to do at home is to keep up with your basic skills. This means that you need to keep practising the four operations (Multiplication, Division, Addition and Subtraction). It also means that you need to keep practising your number bonds to 10, 20 and 100 as well as your times tables (including the platinum challenge!). It is also a good idea to try some investigations to get your brain working – I would recommend Nrich – a lot of my challenges in class come from this website. |
